Kuno

/koo-no/ • noun

Definition: One’s family, kin, or clan.

The word Kuno is rooted in the ancient Germanic term for 'family.' We believe our pets are the family members we have been lucky enough to choose, not animals we own. We are building technology that honors this profound bond, designed to keep you and your best friend healthier, happier, and always together.

It All Began With Teddy

About a year ago we realized we weren't washing his bowls as often as we should. His toys also went months without a proper clean. Nobody we knew was doing it enough either. We started wondering whether that was normal, or had just become normalized. We wouldn't eat off a dirty plate, so why should they?

We then looked into it. Turns out they actually need to be washed after every meal, and not just a quick rinse. So we started properly washing everything as often as it should be. It was gross, slimy, it smelled, and it took a lot of time. We kept struggling to stay consistent.

Since our backgrounds are in engineering, we decided to build something so that we never had to scrub by hand ever again. So Teddy gets the same care in a bad week as a good one, and so we get our evenings back. We didn't want to have to choose between his health and our time.

This was born from a desire to give Teddy the longest, healthiest, and happiest life possible. He gives us something irreplaceable: unconditional love. We wanted to give that back to him.

Hygie is the result. Not just for Teddy, but for every pet who gives everything they have, and so they can get the care they deserve, consistently.
